Ametrine is a rare quartz containing both amethyst and citrine. Ametrine color will have zones of purple and yellow or orange. Most ametrine is mined in Bolivia. Amethyst is created when a temperature gradient exists across the crystal during its formation. Ametrine can be found in both bi-color and blended styles.


Ametrine is most commonly found in Brazil and Bolivia. It can also be found in Sri Lanka, Russia, and the USA.
